CEMA welcomes TARMAKBIR as new associated member
Brussels, 6 March 2014 – CEMA is pleased to announce that TARMAKBIR, the Turkish Association of Agricultural Machinery & Equipment Manufacturers, has decided to join CEMA as an associated member. Founded in1978, TARMAKBIR currently gathers 250 manufacturers of agricultural machinery in Turkey.
CEMA President Gilles Dryancour said: ‘We are extremely pleased that TARMAKBIR has decided to join and strengthen the CEMA network as an associated member. Transnational cooperation and the ability to develop joint industry positions are of strategic importance for our sector in an increasingly globalized world.’
Şenol Önal, President of TARMAKBIR added: ‘We look forward to strengthening our links with CEMA and to supporting the association’s activities in the future. We are confident that adding our national expertise from Turkey will be a valuable contribution to CEMA.’

CEMA (www.cema-agri.org) is the European association representing the agricultural machinery industry. The industry represented by CEMA includes 4,500 manufacturers of agricultural equipment employing directly 135,000 persons and indirectly in the distribution and service network another 125,000 persons. The companies are mainly small and medium-sized manufacturers according to the EU definition and in 2011 had a total turnover of 26 billion euro.
TARMAKBIR (www.tarmakbir.org) is the Turkish Association of Agricultural Machinery & Equipment Manufacturers and was founded in 1978. Currently, there are 250 members of TARMAKBİR. TARMAKBİR is a principal member of the Turkish Agricultural Mechanization Committee (Vice President of Board), Turkish Machinery Technical Committee, Turkish Agricultural Machinery Sub-Committee (President), Turkish Tractor Sub-Committee, Turkish Machinery and Equipment Manufacturing Assembly, DEİK- Foreign Economic Relations Board, Turkish Machinery Industry Federation (Founding Member) and Agrievolution Global Alliance for Agricultural Equipment Manufacturing Associations (Founding Member).
