Tractors and Equipment Exports Outlook for the Year 2021!
Farm machinery exports of manufacturing companies operating in Turkey totaled 553 million dollars in the first five months of 2021. Turkey’s exports spiked to 40.3 percent as per the same period last year.
In terms of trade volume, the FM sector ranked 5th among 22 machinery sectors. The general machinery exports totaled 8.5 billion USD in the January-May period, while the ratio of change was 37 percent year on year. The overall export value per kilogram is at the level of 5.8 dollars. In farm machinery, the unit value per kg is 4.6 dollars. The US was the top market for farm machinery industry exports in the first five months. The same subgroup was followed by Uzbekistan, Italy, Azerbaijan, Iraq, France, Russia, Sudan, Romania, and Serbia.

In the first quarter of 2021, the USA and Italy were by far the top 2 exporting countries for tractors. These countries are followed by Australia and South Africa. While the export of tractors in the 37-75 kW range is above the curve, this group is followed by 75-130 kW tractors. As for implements, the top 5 export partners are Iraq, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Russia, and Algeria. The most prominent product in this group was irrigation machines. Irrigation machines (excluding parts and components) are followed by pneumatic planting machines, equipment for poultry farming, milking machines, agricultural sprayers, trailers, mechanical planting machines, and fertilizer spreaders.
In the balance of trade, exports to imports in the January-April period of 2021 were 153.6 percent, and farm machinery imports increased by 148.7 percent amounted to 312 million dollars year on year.
