CEMA’s Business Barometer Index Sees Sharp Spike, Reaches to +44 Points in January!
The general Business Climate Index for the Agricultural Machinery Industry in Europe has recorded a spike after having reached the positive range in October for the first time since mid-2019. In January 2021, the index rose to +44 points from +28 in December, according to the Business Barometer.
As per survey results, the industry draws a different picture from the periods of 2010 and 2017, and the market index for current business improvements surpasses future expectations for the first time this period. Outwardly, the positive trend in expectations for the next six months arises from surprising improvement in the current business environment index in the last few survey periods.

The responses to the survey point to an increase in current jobs as well as a significant increase in orders from the EU market and outside (especially from Europe) in December.
On the other hand, expectations of European industrialists continue to increase significantly across the EU for all countries except the UK and Ireland. However, dealer stocks are estimated to be below average for both new and used equipment in almost the entire European market.
