Additional Customs Duty is Imposed on the Import of Certain Ag-Machinery Products!
The Presidential Decree no. 2682 that introduced new additional customs duty rates to temporarily Import Regime Decision, was published in the Official Gazette dated 28 June 2020 and entered into force.
As per the decision, some agricultural machinery is included among the products with additional import duty. These agricultural machines include lawnmowers, cotton harvesting machines, peanut picking, and harvesting machines, all types of trashing machines, self-propelled potato harvesting machines, towed-type beet, and tomato harvesting machines. Accordingly, all products included in the scope of agricultural machinery -with very few exceptions- were subject to additional customs tax with the decisions issued since 2017 and particularly the decision of 20 May 2020.
By the decree, additional customs duties will be imposed on some agricultural machinery at the level of 5% until September 30, 2020.

Products originating from EU, EFTA countries, FTA countries, South Korea and Malaysia are exempted from the Decree.
The Presidential Decree introduces an exception to the imposition of additional customs taxes if the relevant goods are ready for shipment and imported before a certain date. Accordingly, the customs declaration regarding the import of goods should be registered within 15 days from the publication of the Decrees and the additional custom rate in Annex-1 will be charged.
